I’m a recent graduate of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. I completed my master's thesis on Agos, a bilingual newspaper in Turkey that continues to publish weekly, despite increasing attacks on independent media outlets around it.

I’m also a fluent speaker of Arabic and Turkish, and I recently worked as a translator and fact-checker for a limited series by PRX’s The World & On Spec called “Lethal Dissent,” which was on One World Media’s longlist for best 2025 podcast/radio show. I have also covered Oakland economics and current events for The Oaklandside. 

While reporting my thesis in March, 2025, I also made a photo essay on Ramadan and political demonstrations in Istanbul, an abridged version of which appeared in Realeyes magazine under the title “Istanbul, Ne Var Ne Yok?” I’m currently working to publish both of these projects in full, but please reach out to me if you’d like to see them before publication.
